After meeting up with Professor Oak while trying to leave for Route 1, both the player and their rival are asked by Oak to choose a starter Pokémon, from the desk near him. The plot of Pokemon Let’s Go Mewtwo follows the same storyline as Generation I, with the player beginning in Pallet Town. Although Mewtwo is a little glassy and lacks meaningful resistances, its stellar offensive prowess and wide coverage makes it one of the most splashable generalists in the game.Pokemon Let’s Go Mewtwo is a GBA ROM Hack by Unbeatable Red based on Pokemon Fire Red.Īlso, be sure to check out Pokemon Let’s Go Lugia. Shadow Ball threatens Giratina and opposing Mewtwo while hitting Steels for neutral Ice Beam lets you hit a number of relevant Dragons, as well as Groudon and Yveltal. Focus Blast lets it instantly delete Melmetal, Dialga, and Zarude. Mewtwo's collection of secondary charged moves give it great potential matchups against a huge portion of the metagame. Mewtwo's incredible stats, sky-high attack, and rapid-fire Psystrikes are only half of why Mewtwo is fantastic in Master League. Its bad matchups against Steel and Ghost do it no favors either. Mewtwo’s incredibly high Attack stat makes it incredibly squishy. Even if you could use Mewtwo in Great League, you shouldn't. Hyper Beam is definitely Mewtwo’s worst charge move.Ĭurrently, the only way to get a Great League Mewtwo is to use a Shadow one.Ice Beam, Thunder Bolt, and Flamethrower should generally be paired with Psycho Cut for solid type-based damage.įocus Blast is acceptable, but not outstanding. Psychic is an acceptable alternative to Psystrike for those lacking Elite TMs, sporting close overall performance. Pair with Confusion for the highest DPS pure Psychic moveset, or Psycho Cut for ease of evasion. Psystrike makes Mewtwo the best non-Shadow/Mega Psychic attacker, standing far above all competition. Psycho Cut + Shadow Ball is ideal against Psychic-type Pokemon when Ghost is super effective and Psychic is not. Use Psycho Cut when Psychic type is resisted, when the charge move is weather boosted, or when the charge move is doubly SE. Movesets with Confusion will do more damage than those with Psycho Cut, but the latter is easier to dodge with and provides more energy for Charge Moves.
